This project formed the main body of my final-year student project, and was a collaboration with multi-award-winning author Janice Galloway. Inspired by Traquair House’s thousand-year history, Janice wrote 10 short poems – one for each century – which I interpreted graphically as posters. The idea was to tread the fine line between art and graphic design, and continue the artistic spirit of 20th-century text artists. The resulting poster series was adapted into a book which compiled the design, process, writing and historical research behind the project.

To keep the posters as varied and eclectic as history itself, I used different styles, colours, textures, processes (analogue & digital), scales and compositions. For different posters, I used digital printing, screen printing, laser-etching, glass, wood, stencils, spray painting, water, letterpress, generative design, burning and more.
